Green Building Services pllc is the synergy of two qualified and motivated individuals who bring a complimentary skill set to the table.
Brian Halprin - RA, LEED AP
After graduating the University of Michigan with a degree in History and Architectural History in 1988, Brian went on to earn a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois - Chicago in 1991. He has served on the board of a non-profit organization focusing on urban blight and redevelopment, and partnered with the University of Detroit school of Architecture to develop a prototype infill house for the city of Detroit. A licensed builder since 1991 and licensed Architect since 1997, Brian has run a separate Architecture company and Halprin Construction, each dedicated to conscientious design and construction, since 1999. Brian lives in Bloomfield Township with his wife and two sons.
Brad Lavey
Brad Lavey graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1995 with a BS degree in Construction Management. Upon completion he worked for a Developer and earned his Builders License in 1997. In 1999 Brad moved to the East Coast to work with Maines premiere Green Builder, Taggart Construction. After completing many innovative building projects, most notably the Maine Coastal Ecology Center , Brad brought his knowledge of Building Science back to Michigan. Upon returning in 2001, Brad started his own building/remodeling company, served as a task force member on the Green Initiative Council at the Washtenaw Home Builders Association and recently gained his HERS certification. Brad lives in Livingston County with his wife and two children.
